June 5 – World Environment Day: Let’s Care Together for Clean Air!
Publication date: 23.06.2025
June 5 is celebrated as World Environment Day.
The decision to observe this day annually was adopted in 1972 in Stockholm during the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment. However, it was officially established in December 1972 by the UN General Assembly (Resolution No. A/RES/2994 (XXVII)).
World Environment Day is one of the main ways to draw global public attention to environmental protection issues. It is considered one of the most important events on the environmental calendar and is celebrated annually in more than 100 countries around the world.
One of the pressing issues of today remains the provision of clean air in urban areas. High-quality atmospheric air is a key component of the environment that directly affects public health.
This issue is also relevant for Odesa, as the city serves as both a recreational and resort center of Ukraine.
Let us remember: the state of the environment depends on each of us.
