NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme «Know What You Breathe: Mobilizing Communities for Air Quality in the Black Sea Basin» BSB00168 – AIRQUEST

On June 4, 2026, the Faculty of Hydrometeorology and Ecology at I. I. Mechnikov Odessa National University hosted a scientific and practical seminar for local authorities and students titled “Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventory and Air Quality Assessment: Challenges and Prospects.”
The event was organized within the framework of the international NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme project “Know What You Breathe: Mobilizing Communities for Air Quality in the Black Sea Basin” BSB00168 – AIRQUEST.
The seminar gathered 500 students along with representatives from the following local government bodies and organizations:
- Department of Ecology and Development of Recreational Areas of the Odessa City Council.
- Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Odessa Regional State Administration.
- Engineering and Technological Institute “Biotechnica” of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.
- Coalition 1325 Odesa Region.
- Protocol Department of the Odessa City Council.
- Basin Management of Water Resources of the Black Sea Rivers and the Lower Danube.
