AIRQUEST Project Contributes to Odesa’s Environmental Strategy

The coordinator of the Interreg project “Know What You Breathe: Mobilizing Communities for Air Quality in the Black Sea Basin” (AIRQUEST), Dr. Angelina Chuhai, Professor and Head of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection, took part in the development of Odesa’s environmental development strategy under the “Ecology” direction.

The initiative was carried out with the support of the Department of Ecology and Recreational Areas of the Odesa City Council.

The main focus was on improving the air quality in the city of Odesa. The discussion addressed:

• the current state of air quality;
• potential environmental threats, especially to human health;
• priority actions for the next five years, including updating the regional air monitoring system in line with EU legislation and Ukrainian regulations.

This contribution is a significant part of AIRQUEST’s mission and supports sustainable development in the Black Sea region.
