Interreg – Know What You Breathe: Mobilizing Communities for Air Quality in the Black Sea Basin – AIRQUEST

On June 27, 2026, as part of the celebration of Ukraine’s Constitution Day, a large-scale environmental campaign to plant 1,000 trees took place, organized by Odesa I.I. Mechnikov National University.
The event was held within the framework of the international project “Interreg – Know What You Breathe: Mobilizing Communities for Air Quality in the Black Sea Basin – AIRQUEST”, aimed at raising community awareness of air quality and promoting environmentally responsible practices.
Tree planting became a symbol of our shared care for the environment, sustainable development, and the future of generations to come. The staff and students of ONU, together with the city’s residents, joined in creating green spaces and contributed to improving the ecological condition of our city.
